Dallas is about 3 hours' drive away. Shreveport (actually the adjacent Bossier City) has a high crime rate and is just not ideal.

Bossier is hit or miss too. North Bossier is what I prefer (I’m from Shreveport/Bossier). Only downside is you’ll hit traffic pretty much anywhere. Coming from Shreveport is a little bit easier only Bc interstate dumps you off right at the .It’s not a serpentine gate so you should be able to drive straight through the front gate during the day time. If it night they may make you serpentine. call the visitor center /guard gate which is 50 yrds away and ask if it’s a straight shot before you go that way.. so they lower the barricades. Awesome.
